Mounds are basically a single pass sand filter
They are constucted on the surface rather than in a trench

Mounds tend to be more prone to failure than a Trench System do to less interface area
There are methods we incorporate into our systems that will help prevent this
I have never seen any local Installers use these methods
Matter of Fact a Lot of installers and even County Health Dept. Personel never knew the proper way to build a mound
That is why Waste Water Managment Commitee drafted drawings to put into the new rule effective 1-1-2011
And they added a lot of text. A lot of mounds were being installed too small because people didn't understand the basil area.
Our work has to meet a higher level than State or County minimum for us to offer a 5 year warranty
Sorry but we just don't do that level of work, with a 5 year warranty it would be suicide
Most Installers are just giving you State or County MINIMUM components and work
There are many differences between our Mound and the Typical Mound and
I will be happy to explain them to you (even have pictures!) when the time comes
